Goldsworthy Reception

Welcome to Goldsworthy 2018-2019

"Play is a child's work." Jean Piaget

Our PE Days will be Tuesdays and Fridays, your child can leave their PE kit on their peg and we will send it home at the end of each half term.

We will be doing Forest School activities every Friday, please bring wellies that are named and can be left at school.

Goldsworthy is our class artist. Andy Goldsworthy OBE is a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist who produces site-specific sculptures and land art situated in natural and urban settings. He lives and works in Scotland.

In our class we thought about how we could create a beautiful display outside our class in the style of Andy Goldsworthy; so we each made our own pebble which is as unique as we all are. We then placed them in a spiral pattern just like Andy Goldsworthy would.

NSPCC Number day...well done for your amazing costumes and raising money for children all over the world!

We have been learning to write all the phase 3 tricky words!

In PE we have been enjoying journeys to the moon as part of our space topic.

As part of Enabling Enterprise week we learnt about superheroes and real life heroes. We designed, made and tested our own superhero capes!

We had a wonderful storytime with Cbeebies presenter Joanna Adeyinka-Burford. You can watch it too by clicking the link below.
