Reception 1

Welcome to RCS!

We hope you enjoy looking at some of our fantastic learning.  This page will keep you updated with our journey through Reception.

This term we are learning about 'Castles'

This week we visited 'Leeds Castle' and the children enjoyed 'The Swan Princess workshop' dressing up and learning all about the castle and who lived in it.

We made our Easter hats for the 'Easter Parade.
RCS would like to thank Miss Brett, our student teacher, for teaching us for the last 8 weeks. We have all learnt so much and had lots of fun!

Our Trip to Godstone Farm

On Monday 16th March Reception visited Godstone Farm. We travelled by coach to the farm where we were met by Farmer Sally and Farmer Faye which told us everything we needed to know about the animals living on the Farm and the important things we needed to remember.

The children had a brilliant time travelling as VIPs on a Tractor ride around the Farm seeing all of the animals and their babies.

We had such a fantastic day!

World Book Day

On World Book Day RCS made a great effort with every child dressing up as their favourite characters from story books. The whole class looked amazing even the teachers looked  fab- if we do say so ourselves!

We were joined by 3P to have loads of fun creating, making, acting and singing.

A great fun day was had by all!!

This Half Term we were very lucky to be visited by Danny Lawrence the Olympic Gymnast. RCS took part in completing one of Danny's training circuits which was brilliant fun! By the end we were all very hot and out of breath!

Welcome to Spring term 2

This term our topic will be about 'The Farm'

On Monday 16th March we will be visiting Godstone Farm!

We are all looking forward to our trip.

Chinese New Year in RCS!

We celebrated Chinese New Year with lots of different fun and exciting activities which taught the children about China and its culture.

We flew to Beijing on China Airlines to taste the delicious food from China!

Music time fun with Miss Brett!

We learnt how to clap the syllables of our names and we even learnt a dinosaur song to play our instruments to.

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

The children in RCS had a fantastic time playing  in the snow on Tuesday 3rd February 2015. We explored what happened to the snow when our hands touched it- finding out that the snow soon melted because our hands were warm.

We loved playing and exploring in the snow!

Forest School

Every Thursday afternoon RCS visit our Forest School.

We learn all about being in the outdoor and the animals and insects that live outside in different habitats.

We have got our own mini-beast hotel, log seating area, mud painting area and our forest school scarecrow!

It's amazing!

Look at the lovely pictures of us having great fun at Forest School!

Welcome to our Dinosaur Discovery Zone

Our Trip to the Natural History Museum!

On our Dinosaur adventure we visited the Natural History Museum in London. We got onto the train and sat down in our seats ready to meet all of the fantastic dinosaurs the Museum had to show us.

What a great experience our trip was!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the parents who helped on our visit to the museum. We wouldn't have been able to have such a fantastic day without your support. Thank you very much! :)

We hope you had fun discovering dinosaurs with us!!

The children are having a brilliant time being Dinosaur Detectives, discovering fossils in the dinosaur dig area and exploring reasons why they think dinosaurs are now extinct. We are keeping a close eye on our very own dinosaur egg, waiting patiently for it to hatch. Every day we are checking to see if there have been any changes, it is so exciting!

Happy New Year!

Welcome back to Spring Term 1. The children will now be learning about an exciting new topic. We are kick starting 2015 by becoming Dinosaur explorers in RCS.

Christmas in RCS!

Christmas in RCS was full of fun and excitement. The children met Father Christmas, played games, sang songs and partied in their Christmas clothes!

We all had a great time and we hope you have all had a lovely Christmas too!

Our Journey so far!

We have been practising our catching and throwing skills in P.E!
