Secondary Transition
On this page, parents will find information about their child transitioning from Primary to Secondary school
FOR THE ATTENTION OF PARENTS AND CARER OF CHILDREN IN YEAR 5.
Dear Parents and Carers
It has come to the time of year where you will need to start thinking about choosing a secondary school for your child. This is something that can be a somewhat daunting experience and will potentially prove more of a challenge this year due to the pandemic. That said, there is a lot of useful literature and information available to you which can support the decision making process. Sadly, due to the current restrictions we will not be able to hold our usual secondary transfer information meeting for parent and carers this month. However, the basis for that meeting is always the presentation from Bexley LA, which is compiled by the admissions team. This is available for you on the school website and we intend to keep it there until the end of term. I would strongly advise you to read this carefully, as it contains all the key dates and deadlines that you need to be aware of as well as lots of other useful information. Please can I take the opportunity to remind you that the Bexley Secondary Selection test is an opt in test and the onus is on parents and carers to register with Bexley admissions if you wish your child to take the test. Currently we plan for the children to take the test in school in the autumn, as has been the usual procedure in past years.
Kind regards
Janice Owen : Headteacher.
