Road Safety Week

The 20th- 24th November is National Road Safety Week.  Road Safety Week is the UK’s biggest road safety event.  People all around the country get involved to learn and spread the word about road safety.

As a school, Longlands have been learning about Road Safety and the importance of it.  In classes, children have discussed how the Green Cross Code helps adults and children to cross the road safely.  The children also learnt about the dangers of crossing between parked cars and on sharp bends. Behaviour in cars was also explored, including not distracting the driver and wearing a seatbelt.  There was a short quiz at the end.

Longlands are holding a poster competition.  Throughout the school the children have been busy designing Road Safety posters and the winner will be announced next Friday in Achievements Assembly.
